What to see
Asilah's compact medina is enclosed by ramparts built by the Portuguese in the 15th century. Its white and blue walls are covered with murals, many painted during the town's annual summer arts festival. Walk the ramparts to the Krikia viewpoint at sunset. South of town, Paradise Beach is quieter and wilder.
Getting there
Asilah is about 45 minutes from Tangier by road or train; the station is a short taxi ride from the medina. It is an easy stop between Tangier and Rabat.
